Jack O'Leary is a veteran sports writer from Boston, MA. For eight years, he covered all major sports for UPI and AP then opted for the relative sanity of daily newspapers where he became the golf writer for the Boston Herald.
After a 13-year run, O'Leary expanded his golf horizon by accepting an Associate Editor's position at Senior Golfer Magazine. Two and a half years later, he ventured to the Sunshine State to create a regional magazine which became Florida Golf Monthly.
O'Leary is a 25 year member of the Golf Writers Association of America. He was the first president and is a 17 year member of the International Network of Golf.
Through the years, Father O'Leary (as he is best known) has expanded his scope of knowledge and experience to include the people, the game and the industry and it has translated into four national golf writing awards. There has been a price paid, however. Once a single-digit handicapper, O'Leary's game now appears only on the sides of milk cartons. If you find it, please send it to him in Lakeland, Florida. He will be most thankful.
